Matthew 25 Ministry

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. … Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
–  Jesus

Our Focus

Matthew 25 Ministry is a clothing ministry through Lakeview Church of the Nazarene. Over the past few years this ministry has transformed into a well-oiled machine, collecting clothing donations from our friends in Nampa (including the lost and found items from the local schools), cleaning the clothes and then handing them out to those in need.

Currently our greatest need comes through “homeless” school children on the Nampa School District.  By helping over 500 of these families, so far, we are giving them the ability to spend what little they have on other necessary items, such as food, electricity and shelter.
Once a year we also host a “Coat Day!”  Over 600 coats, jackets and sweatshirts are handed out in early November to those needing something to keep them warm for the winter.  Hats, gloves and scarves are also available to those who come that day.
Recently we have provided for other families including Treasure Valley Foster families from this ministry.  From providing clothes as needed to making “emergency” clothing packs for children of all ages and sizes.
Donations are always welcome, especially children sizes 6-12 and adults in extra-large sizes.  We also accept shoes, new underwear and socks which we give out as available.  Just drop them by the Church at 608 14th Ave. N., Nampa.  Next to Lakeview Park, behind the old Parkview School.
Volunteers are also welcome and very much appreciated.  If you have community service hours you need to complete, volunteer hours through school needed to get done or just want to spend some time helping others, this is a great opportunity for you.  Just contact Pastor Gretchin at the church office, 466-0112, and she will get you set up.  We always need help sorting and re-stocking.  Come for an hour or come for many, we can always use you.
